LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Reverend Stephen Lalor upon the occa-
sion of his designation as recipient of the Albany County Executive's
2015 Volunteer Award on April 20, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
the dedicated efforts of those individuals from across the State of New
York who volunteer their time and energies in service to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Reverend Stephen Lalor upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Albany County Executive's 2015 Volunteer Award which was cele-
brated on Monday, April 20, 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Albany County Executive's Volunteer Award recognizes
outstanding residents who selflessly give of themselves for others, and
demonstrate an exceptional commitment to service, helping to make the
community a better place to live; Reverend Stephen Lalor is one such
individual; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Stephen Lalor of Albany, New York, serves as a
member of both the Albany County Medical Reserve Corps and the county
Citizen Corps, where he offers his support and expertise in the area of
emergency preparedness; he is is a strong supporter of emergency
preparedness initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Extremely passionate in helping others, Reverend Stephen
Lalor plays a vital role as a liaison with the faith-based community;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Reverend Stephen Lalor has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism is an essential element of all societies; it
provides a way in which the human values of community, caring and serv-
ing can be sustained and strengthened; and
WHEREAS, Volunteerism promotes family and community solidarity; most
importantly, people who volunteer their time in civic and charitable
endeavors inspire others to the call of volunteerism; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Reverend Stephen Lalor has displayed
throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Reverend Stephen Lalor upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Albany County Executive's 2015 Volunteer Award; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Reverend Stephen Lalor.
