LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Niko Niforatos upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Niko
Niforatos upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of a Young
Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Niko Niforatos, Owner and Operator of Niko's Auto Repair,
LLC, was selected for this esteemed recognition for being hardworking,
ambitious, and creative; and
WHEREAS, The son of George and Mary Niforatos, Niko Niforatos's first
job was working with his father at G&N Lawn Care; while a student of
Roscoe Central School, he took classes at BOCES for automotive repair,
and started to fine tune his lifelong interest into a career path; and
WHEREAS, Niko Niforatos went on to join the Roscoe Rockland Volunteer
Fire Department, where he currently serves as an interior firefighter;
and
WHEREAS, Niko Niforatos continued his schooling at SUNY Delhi, and
furthered his education at SUNY Morrisville where he focused on diesel
mechanics; and
WHEREAS, Upon completing school, Niko Niforatos returned to his home-
town of Roscoe, New York, and began working at the Monticello Central
School District bus garage, where his primary responsibility included
servicing the district's fleet of buses; and
WHEREAS, A young adult with an entrepreneur mentality, 23-year-old
Niko Niforatos came across an opportunity to purchase a business where
he had previously worked during the summers; he took it upon himself to
invest into buying the business and renovating the property; and
WHEREAS, After a summer of cleaning and refurbishing the business,
Niko's Auto Repair, LLC opened its doors on October 13, 2014; this hard-
working mechanic was overjoyed by the supportive response of his commu-
nity using his services; and
WHEREAS, Niko Niforatos enjoys the hard work and challenges of owning
his own business at 23 years of age; together, he and his fiancee,
Emily, continue to grow the business they relish being a part of in
their hometown; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Niko Niforatos upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Niko Niforatos.
