LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Anya Novikov upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN
COUNTY DEMOCRAT

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young adults within the great Empire State who have
made strong contributions to their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud honor to Anya
Novikov upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of a Young
Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and
WHEREAS, Anya Novikov, Coordinator of Events and Fundraising for New
Hope Community, was selected for this esteemed recognition for being
hardworking, ambitious, and creative; and
WHEREAS, A 1999 graduate of Livingston Manor High School, Anya Novikov
discovered her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer while away at
college; shortly after her mother's passing, she found new hope at the
New Hope Community serving as a Direct Support Professional, which
helped her recover from this tragedy; and
WHEREAS, During her first year, Anya Novikov spent her time and ener-
gies in hospitals helping the people she supported through serious
illness; a natural caregiver, she worked closely in hospice situations,
which allowed her to provide the comfort her residents needed during
their final days; and
WHEREAS, Rising through the ranks, Anya Novikov was promoted to House
Manager of New Hope Community; in 2007, she began working on furthering
her education, and eventually earned a bachelor's degree in Business
Management and Marketing from Empire State College; and
WHEREAS, After completing her degree, Anya Novikov returned to New
Hope Community serving as a Marketing and Communications Associate, and
was promoted to Coordinator of Events and Fundraising, a position she
currently holds; and
WHEREAS, In her new role at New Hope Community, Anya Novikov continues
to bring new hope to others through a culture of philanthropy with the
New Hope Community Foundation, which plays host to a number of events
and campaigns to raise and distribute funds in support of New Hope
Community's mission to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectu-
al and other developmental disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Today, Anya Novikov is studying for her master's degree in
Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy through Bay Path University while
focusing on ensuring the quality of life of the residents she serves at
New Hope Community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Anya Novikov upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
a Young Professionals Award by the SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anya Novikov.
