LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Commander Robert J. Ulrich Sr. upon the
occasion of his retirement after 19 years of distinguished service to
VFW Post 391

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Commander Robert J. Ulrich Sr. upon the occasion of his retirement after
19 years of distinguished service to VFW Post 391; he will officially
retire on May 7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, For nearly two decades, Commander Robert J. Ulrich Sr.
rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service to VFW Post 391;
and
WHEREAS, This esteemed man proudly served his country as a member of
the United States military for over 25 years; his tours of duty include
service in the Air Force, Army National Guard, and Air National Guard;
and
WHEREAS, A retired Technical Sergeant, Robert J. Ulrich Sr. is the
recipient of the Air Force Outstanding Achievement Award and has
received recognition as a Machine Gun Expert for marksmanship, tank
cannon, and main gun; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure as Commander of VFW Post 391, Robert J.
Ulrich Sr. served with loyalty, honor and distinction; he has earned the
admiration and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Mary, and their three
children, Robert, Edgar, and Jennifer, all of whom feel privileged to be
a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robert J. Ulrich Sr. upon the occasion of his retirement after 19
years of distinguished service to VFW Post 391; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robert J. Ulrich Sr.
