LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lauren Brozoski of Long Island Lutheran
High School upon the occasion of being named the 2015 New York State
Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year and New York State Miss Basket-
ball

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
young individuals within our midst, who strive for athletic and academic
excellence through rigorous training and mental and physical discipline;
and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success, and developing a sense
of fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Lauren Brozoski of Long Island Lutheran High School upon the occasion of
being named the 2015 New York State Gatorade Basketball Player of the
Year and New York State Miss Basketball; and
WHEREAS, Lauren Brozoski has received these two esteemed awards in
recognition of her exceptional athletic performance, and her exemplary
character demonstrated both on and off the court; and
WHEREAS, Lauren Brozoski, a native of Cambria Heights, New York, is a
senior point guard on the Long Island Lutheran High School Girls Basket-
ball Team, where she has been a member since eighth grade; and
WHEREAS, A gifted scorer and talented young athlete, Lauren Brozoski
has helped lead the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders to their second
straight Class AA Federation Title, and fourth championship overall
during her outstanding basketball career; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Lauren Brozoski reached the remarkable 2,000
career point mark during the Crusader's 66-52 victory over the Christ
the King Royals in the Class AA Federation Title Game; and
WHEREAS, Humble in spirit, Lauren Brozoski always takes her successes
in stride and is quick to credit her fellow team members, as no team can
succeed without talent throughout the entire roster; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Lauren Brozoski has clearly made a contribution to
the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of her school; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lauren Brozoski upon the occasion of being named the 2015 New York
State Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year and New York State Miss
Basketball; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Lauren Brozoski.
