LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Phil Russo upon the occasion of his
retirement after 35 years of distinguished service to Mohawk Valley
Community Action Agency, Inc.
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Phil
Russo upon the occasion of his retirement after 35 years of distin-
guished service to Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated with a Retirement
Party in his honor on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Daniele's at Valley
View, Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, Phil Russo, who currently serves in the esteemed position of
Fiscal Director, has devoted more than three decades of unwavering
service to Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. (MVCAA) strives
to help families throughout Oneida and Herkimer Counties to become self-
sufficient by providing services such as safe efficient housing, emer-
gency help for youth and families, as well as information, education and
training; and
WHEREAS, For the past 35 years, Phil Russo rendered faithful, consci-
entious and valuable service to Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency,
Inc.; in his capacity as Fiscal Director, he has served with loyalty,
honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Phil Russo was governed by a keen sense
of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency,
Inc., Phil Russo earned the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demon-
strated by Phil Russo over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Phil Russo upon the occasion of his retirement after 35 years of
distinguished service, and to wish him success in all of his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Phil Russo.
