LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating the Attica Rodeo upon the occasion
of its designation as recipient of the 2014 Rodeo of the Year Award by
the American Professional Rodeo Association

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality and
character of life of the citizens of New York State are greatly enriched
by the availability of exceptional recreational organizations which have
become an important part of the history of our State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late the Attica Rodeo upon the occasion of its designation as recipient
of the 2014 Rodeo of the Year Award by the American Professional Rodeo
Association; and
WHEREAS, Voted the American Professional Rodeo Association's Rodeo of
the Year for the fifth consecutive year, the Attica Rodeo is a non-pro-
fit organization whose members volunteer their time and energies to
maintaining this award-winning event; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of President Mat Gartz, the Rodeo
has become a preferred pastime for the residents of Attica, New York and
beyond; all funds are returned to the community through financial
donations or reinvested into its facility through maintenance and expan-
sion; and
WHEREAS, The Attica Rodeo, in its 57th year, takes almost a year to
plan; its success is based upon the steadfast commitment of its spon-
sors, volunteers and members who work tirelessly all winter long to
ensure they have the right people, judges, clown acts and specialty acts
to put on a great show; and
WHEREAS, In addition to the acclaimed rodeo, cattle penning, barrel
racing, and horse shows are a fan favorite of the Attica Rodeo and Show
Association; and
WHEREAS, Steeped in a proud and distinguished history, the Attica
Rodeo may take just pride in its purposeful growth, as it looks forward
to continuing to serve the recreational needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Attica Rodeo upon the occasion of its designation as
recipient of the 2014 Rodeo of the Year Award by the American Profes-
sional Rodeo Association; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mat Gartz, President of the Attica Rodeo.
