LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION welcoming and paying tribute to Consul General of
Italy, Natalia Quintavalle, upon the occasion of her visit to Albany,
New York, on May 20, 2015

WHEREAS, The State of New York is greatly enriched by its cultural
diversity and proudly shares a multitude of values as well as familial
ties with the people and country of Italy; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body, representing the people of the State
of New York, is pleased to welcome Consul General of Italy, Natalia
Quintavalle, upon the occasion of her visit to Albany, New York, for a
guest appearance and briefing before the New York Conference of Itali-
an-American State Legislators and other law makers on Wednesday, May 20,
2015; and
WHEREAS, Natalia Quintavalle is the first woman to be selected as
Italian Consul General in New York; she officially began her appointment
on September 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Natalia Quintavalle was born in Pietrasanta, in the province
of Lucca; after graduating in 1981 with a degree in Political Science
from the University of Pisa, she then studied diplomacy and passed the
examinations for diplomatic service in 1986; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is privileged to extend a warm welcome
to an extraordinary visitor of such esteemed position and purpose,
Consul General of Italy, Natalia Quintavalle, and to wish her continued
success and happiness in all endeavors she pursues; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
welcome Italian Consul General Natalia Quintavalle upon the occasion of
her visit to Albany, New York, and to thank her for all she has done for
the Italian-American community in New York State since her appointment
as Consul General of Italy; and
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Consul General of Italy, Natalia Quintavalle.
