LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Yehudit Berenblat upon the occasion of
her designation as the recipient of the Volunteer Award by the Jewish
Community Center of the Greater Five Towns

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Yehudit Berenblat has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Yehudit
Berenblat upon the occasion of her designation as the recipient of the
Volunteer Award by the Jewish Community Center of the Greater Five
Towns, to be celebrated at its 13th Annual Dinner on Wednesday, May 13,
2015, at The Sephardic Temple, Cedarhurst, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Jewish Community Center (JCC) of the Greater Five Towns
was established in 1980, serving 16,000 individuals each year at 18
different sites throughout the Five Towns area; and
WHEREAS, This vital organization offers programs for senior citizens,
infants, and people of all ages and abilities, as well as those with
special needs; and
WHEREAS, Yehudit Berenblat has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable woman has been involved with the JCC of the
Greater Five Towns for more than 8 years; an avid piano player, Yehudit
Berenblat assists with many of this dynamic organization's senior
groups, including the Chaverim Program for Holocaust survivors; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Yehudit Berenblat has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Yehudit Berenblat has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Yehudit Berenblat upon the occasion of her designation as the
recipient of the Volunteer Award by the Jewish Community Center of the
Greater Five Towns; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Yehudit Berenblat.
