LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Sarah Chamberlain upon the occa-
sion of her induction into the Pi Mu Epsilon National Honor Mathematics
Society

WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success in
academics, have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, It is also the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the
youth of today, and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and achieve-
ments best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State
and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Sarah Chamberlain upon the occasion of her induction into the Pi Mu
Epsilon National Honor Mathematics Society which was celebrated at its
annual awards dinner on Monday, March 23, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Sarah Chamberlain, the daughter of Cheryl and Greg Chamber-
lain, is a sophomore at SUNY Fredonia; and
WHEREAS, A triple major in the areas of mathematics and theoretical
physics, Sarah Chamberlain has been inducted into her school's Pi Mu
Epsilon National Honor Mathematics Society in recognition of her
outstanding work in the SUNY Fredonia Math Department; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this remarkable young woman has received both
the Frank R. Olson Scholarship, and the MAA/Fawzi Yaqub Award for her
many academic achievements in her field of study; and
WHEREAS, Sarah Chamberlain, in achieving these prestigious academic
honors, may take just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the
spirit of excellence she brings to her family, friends, community and
SUNY Fredonia; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
scholar now stands honorably, in eager anticipation of future chal-
lenges, understanding and appreciating the caring counsel and support
provided by her teachers and parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Sarah Chamberlain upon the occasion of her induction into
the Pi Mu Epsilon National Honor Mathematics Society; and to wish her
all the best in her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sarah Chamberlain.
