LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Joseph Kennedy upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Youth Member of the Year Award by the
CYO-Troy Youth Association, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those young people who have made strong contributions to
their communities and serve as role models for their peers; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Joseph Kennedy
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Youth Member of
the Year Award by the CYO-Troy Youth Association, Inc. to be feted at
its 11th Annual William J. Pascarell Person of the Year Celebration on
Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the Italian Community Center in Troy, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Incorporated on May 3, 1977, the CYO-Troy Youth Association
strives to foster and develop the cultural, moral and physical well-be-
ing of the youth and adults of Troy, New York, and the entire Capital
District; and
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the best potential which is inherent in our most
precious resource, our youth, Joseph Kennedy has established a purpose-
fulness of life and brought enduring honor to his community through his
many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Kennedy has been an active member of the CYO-Troy
Youth Association since he was five years old; he has volunteered for
this vital organization in numerous capacities, including serving as
Counselor in Training at the Summer Day Camp, assisting in fundraising
efforts, and helping students in both the After School Tutorial Program
and the Basketball Fundamentals Program; and
WHEREAS, An exceptional student, Joseph Kennedy is at the top of his
Sophomore class at Troy High School, holding a 99.7 GPA; in addition, he
is a member of the Student Council; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, Joseph
Kennedy now stands honorably with just pride in his accomplishments and
in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appreciat-
ing the caring counsel and support provided by the CYO-Troy Youth Asso-
ciation, his teachers, and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Joseph Kennedy upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Youth Member of the Year Award by the CYO-Troy Youth Association,
Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Joseph Kennedy.
