LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Palmyra Village Police Officer Adam P.
Husk, in recognition of his heroic action in saving the life of an
unconscious man
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the caring, concern and heroic acts of individuals who take
prompt and appropriate action in emergency situations, remaining calm
under pressure, in an effort to preserve the life of another; and
WHEREAS, The quality and sanctity of human life are cherished values,
worthy of safeguarding; this Legislative Body is proud to honor an indi-
vidual who would serve to protect it; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Palmyra
Village Police Officer Adam P. Husk in recognition of his heroic action
in saving the life of an unconscious man; and
WHEREAS, On Saturday, November 22, 2014; Police Officer Adam P. Husk
and his partner, Brian Parkison, responded to a call for an individual
who was unconscious and not breathing; instinctually they used their
skills and administered lifesaving methods which prevented the man from
possible death; and
WHEREAS, Surrounded by members of the community, friends and family,
Police Officer Adam P. Husk was presented with an esteemed award on
Monday, December 15, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Adam P. Husk of Palmyra, New York, was born on October 7,
1987, in Canandaigua, New York; he graduated from Palmyra-Macedon High
School, where he was a member of the 2005 New York State Championship
Basketball Team; he later graduated from the Finger Lakes Community
College with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice; and
WHEREAS, Police Officer Adam P. Husk is a five year veteran of the
Palmyra Village Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Police Officer Adam P. Husk should be meritoriously commended
for remaining calm under pressure and for his proficiency while perform-
ing a lifesaving deed; and
WHEREAS, Through his spontaneous and heroic actions, Police Officer
Adam P. Husk demonstrated his character and his compassion for the
welfare of others, personifying, by virtue of his actions, the collec-
tive concern of ordinary citizens across the community of New York State
who respond without the thought of danger or reward when others are in
need of help; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Palmyra Village Police Officer Adam P. Husk in recognition of his
heroic action in saving the life of an unconscious man on Saturday,
November 22, 2014; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Palmyra Village Police Officer Adam P. Husk.
