LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending CROP Hunger Walk Achiever Michele Hill
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by Troy
Area United Ministries on May 28, 2015

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Michele Hill has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend CROP Hunger
Walk Achiever Michele Hill upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition by Troy Area United Ministries to be celebrated on
Thursday, May 28, 2015, at the Franklin Terrace in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Troy Area United Ministries (TAUM) is an ecumenical associ-
ation of congregations composed of people of all faiths and backgrounds
with a mission of serving people in need, working for social justice and
building a stronger community; and
WHEREAS, Michele Hill is a retired community volunteer and an active
member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 39 years, this esteemed woman has faithfully
worked at Leonard's and St. Mary Hospitals; and
WHEREAS, Michele Hill has been called upon to contribute her time,
talents, and resources to countless civic and charitable endeavors and
has always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, A Troy Area United Ministries CROP Walk Hero, Michele Hill
has raised significant funding over the years to provide hunger relief
locally, nationally, and internationally; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to helping others, she continues to help with
dinners, and to assist such congregations as Bethel Baptist Church,
Cornerstone Community Church, and St. Bonaventure Church; she also
volunteers at the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Michele Hill has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Michele Hill has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend CROP Hunger Walk Achiever Michele Hill upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition by Troy Area United Ministries; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michele Hill.
