LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brian Mason upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Outstanding Achievement in Government
Accountability Award by the New York Capital Chapter of the Association
of Government Accountants
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Brian Mason has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brian Mason
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Outstanding
Achievement in Government Accountability Award by the New York Capital
Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants to be celebrated at
its Annual Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Wolferts
Roost Country Club, Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, This prestigious award is bestowed upon a hardworking volun-
teer who helps make the New York Capital Chapter of the Association of
Government Accountants (AGA) one of the most highly-regarded of all AGA
chapters; one such volunteer is Brian Mason; and
WHEREAS, AGA is the premier educational organization dedicated to the
enhancement of public financial management; this vital organization
serves the professional interest of accountability professionals, as
well as private sector organizations, responsible for effectively using
billions of dollars and other monetary resources every day; and
WHEREAS, AGA serves the public through its constant efforts to improve
accountability and disclosure and to enhance professionalism of public
sector financial management; the individual members are professionals in
various aspects of the field of public auditing, budgeting, evaluation
and systems, representing the public, private and academic sector; and
WHEREAS, Currently, Brian Mason holds the distinguished position of
Assistant Comptroller at the New York State Office of the State Comp-
troller; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Brian Mason has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brian Mason upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Outstanding Achievement in Government Accountability Award by the
New York Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brian Mason.
