LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Ross Valve upon the occasion of
receiving the Friend of Downtown Award by the Downtown Troy Business
Improvement District

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Ross Valve upon the occasion of receiving the Friend of Downtown
Award by the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District which was cele-
brated at its Annual Dinner on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Franklin
Plaza in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, The mission of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement
District is to cultivate and advocate for the economic growth of down-
town Troy by creating an inviting, dynamic, and sustainable community
which celebrates the city's history while building towards its future;
and
WHEREAS, The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District is dedicated
to improving the quality of life within the district to further enhance
and make its community a vibrant and attractive destination for visi-
tors, businesses, residents, property owners, the daily workforce, and
students; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1879, in Troy, New York, Ross Valve provides
automatic control valves which are designed to last; and
WHEREAS, Ross Valve focuses on enduring valves of integrity of design
and engineering, quality of materials, craftsmanship in manufacturing,
exceptional customer service, and flexible business systems which have
evolved with the changes in technologies and the industries it serves;
and
WHEREAS, Although Ross Valve is located outside of the Downtown Troy
Business Improvement District, it has supported its mission while main-
taining a positive business reputation beyond the district; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Ross Valve upon the occasion of receiving the Friend of
Downtown Award by the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ross Valve.
