LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Neal Ressa, Jr. upon the occasion of
his designation as the 2015 Junior Firefighter of the Year by the Mineo-
la Junior Fire Department

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to commend Neal Ressa, Jr.
upon the occasion of his designation as the 2015 Junior Firefighter of
the Year by the Mineola Junior Fire Department; this momentous occasion
was celebrated at its 13th Annual Junior's Installation Dinner at its
Department Hall in Mineola, New York, on Saturday, April 25, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Neal Ressa, Jr. is a 15-year-old sophomore at Mineola High
School where he is a member of the lacrosse and football teams; his work
ethic, initiative and willingness to go above and beyond what he is
called to do have earned him the respect and admiration of his peers;
and
WHEREAS, Since August of 2013, Neal Ressa, Jr. has been an exemplary
and extremely active member of the Mineola Junior Fire Department; he
has since gone through the ranks as Lieutenant and currently serves as
the department's Captain; and
WHEREAS, With a passion for our country's Armed Services, Neal Ressa,
Jr. dreams of attending West Point Academy and hopes to serve the
United States as a member of its military; in addition, he plans to
continue his fire service as a member of the Mineola Volunteer Fire
Department; and
WHEREAS, It takes a special dedication, a strong desire to help others
and a tireless sense of community to forsake precious time with family
and friends to respond to the signal that a neighbor is in need; Neal
Ressa, Jr. desires to be such a firefighter; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
Junior Firefighter now stands honorably, with just pride in his accom-
plishments and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding
and appreciating the caring counsel and support provided by Senior Fire-
fighters, mentors, and his parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Neal Ressa, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as the 2015
Junior Firefighter of the Year by the Mineola Junior Fire Department;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Junior Firefighter Neal Ressa, Jr.
