LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jud Payne upon the occasion of his
retirement after many years of distinguished service to the Local 41
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed resi-
dents of this noble Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jud
Payne upon the occasion of his retirement after many years of distin-
guished service to the Local 41 International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers; he will officially retire on Monday, June 1, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 24, 1955, Jud Payne was raised in Arcade, New
York; and
WHEREAS, After graduating from Alfred State College, Jud Payne was
accepted into the Local 41 International Brotherhood of Electrical Work-
ers (IBEW) apprenticeship program in 1977; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed electrician was initiated into Local 41 IBEW on
September 12, 1978, and graduated from its apprenticeship program in May
of 1981; and
WHEREAS, For over three decades, Jud Payne has rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Local 41 IBEW, earning the
admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as journeyman electrician, Jud Payne worked
for many different contractors throughout his career, displaying
outstanding skills and professionalism; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, Jud Payne was appointed Assistant Business Manager
for Local 41, where he diligently served for the past decade; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Claudia, his two
children, Matthew and Amanda, and his grandson, Bennett, all of whom
feel privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is also the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jud Payne upon the occasion of his retirement after many years of
distinguished service to the Local 41 International Brotherhood of Elec-
trical Workers, and to wish him continued success in all his future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jud Payne.
