LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Catholic
Daughters of the Americas, Court Rita No. 264, on June 14, 2015

WHEREAS, Religious institutions, and the many spiritual, social and
educational benefits they confer, play a vital role in the development
of the moral fabric of a responsible citizenry; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
illustrious religious organizations of the State of New York whose
worthy endeavors have a substantial impact on the quality of life in
their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 100th Anniversary of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court
Rita No. 264, on June 14, 2015, at Mountainville Manor in Mountainville,
New York; and
WHEREAS, One of the largest and oldest organizations of its kind,
Catholic Daughters of the Americas, strives to perform numerous good
works in the community including donations to charity and the adminis-
tration of scholarship programs; its members strive to be helping hands
where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness; and
WHEREAS, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Rita No. 264,
located in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, is composed of many dedicated
Catholic women who come together in a spirit of fellowship to work for
their parishes and communities under the motto "Unity and Charity"; and
WHEREAS, From its inception 100 years ago, Catholic Daughters of the
Americas, Court Rita No. 264, has grown and developed to become a valued
court within the national organization; and
WHEREAS, Today, this esteemed religious organization continues to
provide its members with updated programs to serve the current needs of
church and country; and
WHEREAS, In so effectively carrying out its mission, Catholic Daugh-
ters of the Americas, Court Rita No. 264, has demonstrated the important
value of helping others in need; and
WHEREAS, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Rita No. 264, now
stands on the threshold of tomorrow, prepared to meet the challenges of
the coming decades while retaining that spiritual resolve which charac-
terizes its past; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when religious
organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Catholic Daughters of the Americas,
Court Rita No. 264, on June 14, 2015, fully confident that this commem-
oration reflects the belief in those values which enhance the dignity
and purpose of life; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Rita No. 264, Corn-
wall-on-Hudson, New York.
