LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Sesame Flyers International, Inc. upon
the occasion of hosting its 6th Annual Scholarship & Awards Gala

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Sesame Flyers International, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting its 6th
Annual Scholarship & Awards Gala on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Trop-
ical Paradise Ballroom in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1983, Sesame Flyers International, Inc. is a
community based nonprofit organization which functions as a multiservice
agency to provide a variety of services to both youths and adults; and
WHEREAS, Sesame Flyers International, Inc. consists of both volunteers
and professional staff, dedicated to empowering the lives of young
people and adults in the community; its mission is to provide a range of
youth development, cultural, social welfare and supportive services to
individuals and families residing in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed organization takes pride in its Caribbean
cultural heritage and has enriched its community through its partic-
ipation in such West Indian American Day Carnival festivities as
Kiddie's Carnival, Panorama, and Labor Day; and
WHEREAS, With an atmosphere of caring, Sesame Flyers International,
Inc. understands that part of loving children means presenting them
with opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills, technology and
equipment which will prepare them for the challenges yet to come in
their adult lives; and
WHEREAS, Sesame Flyers International, Inc. continues to strive towards
its goal of youth empowerment through carefully structured programs
designed to address the needs of its children, their families and the
community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Sesame Flyers International, Inc. upon the occasion of hosting
its 6th Annual Scholarship & Awards Gala; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sesame Flyers International, Inc.
