LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli upon
the occasion of receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors, on June 20, 2015

WHEREAS, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli, through his diligence and rigorous
efforts, has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank,
Eagle Scout; the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Saturday,
June 20, 2015, at Plandome Village Hall, Plandome, New York; and
WHEREAS, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli is a member of Boy Scouts of Amer-
ica Troop 71, Plandome, New York; and
WHEREAS, A Scout since 2005, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli has served in
several leadership positions for Boys Scouts of America Troop 71,
including Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Quartermaster, and
Senior Patrol Leader; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his time with Troop 71, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli
participated in numerous activities, including ice climbing, Alpine
Scout Camp, Greenkill Winter Weekends, and Annual Summer Camp at both
Yawgoog and Aquehonga, where he earned most of his 33 merit badges; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli earned his 50-miler
patch while training with his Philmont Scout Ranch Crew at Ten Mile
River; while there, he embarked on a two-week trek through the mountains
of New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, An exceptional Scout and role model, Vincent Benjamin Toma-
selli received the Ad Altare Dei Religious Medal, and is an ordeal
member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, A student at Manhasset High School, Vincent Benjamin Tomasel-
li is a participant of the Exemplars, and was inducted into both the
Honor Society, and the Italian Honor Society; in addition, he contin-
ually earns Gold Honor Roll status; and
WHEREAS, In 2014 and 2015, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli obtained the
Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and was selected to attend Ameri-
can Legion Boys' State in 2015; he is also the recipient of the New York
State Rowing Association Scholar Athlete Award, and has participated in
Crew and Track and Field, as well as CYO Basketball; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to
the development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation;
and
WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned by
only five percent of all Boy Scouts, is the distinguished rank of Eagle
Scout; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has been involved in Scouting for
many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all of
the necessary achievements, including completion of a community service
project, which was successfully planned, developed and executed; and
WHEREAS, For his project, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli transformed the
second floor of the barn at the Science Museum of Long Island into an
Anthropology Viewing Center, so that donated artifacts could be studied
and displayed; and
WHEREAS, Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli's perseverance in rising through
the ranks to Eagle Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master
difficult tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a lead-

er, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex society;
and
WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State and his Nation, and no doubt his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli on achieving the rank
of Eagle Scout; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Vincent Benjamin Tomaselli.
