LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending James Knight upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2015 Realtor of the Year Award by the
Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors Inc.
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that individuals who
distinguish themselves in their profession and in service to their
community merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend James Knight
upon the occasion of being selected as the recipient of the 2015 Realtor
of the Year Award by the Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, This auspicious award acknowledges the contributions of a
Realtor who has contributed to the real estate industry, the community,
and the Buffalo Niagara Association of Realtors (BNAR); and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Town of Tonawanda, James Knight
attended both St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, and Canisius College in
Buffalo, New York; and
WHEREAS, James Knight began his career in the banking world and soon
moved into real estate syndication, serving as an Acquisitions Officer
and Property Manager; and
WHEREAS, Today, James Knight is affiliated with the Buffalo commercial
office of RealtyUSA; in addition, he is a Certified Real Estate
Appraiser and a New York State-recognized instructor of real estate and
appraisal curriculum; and
WHEREAS, James Knight was instrumental in the formation of the New
York State Commercial Association of Realtors Western Chapter, and
currently holds the position of Director for the New York State Commer-
cial Association; and
WHEREAS, An active member of the BNAR, James Knight has participated
on many of its committees, and has held the titles of Director and Pres-
ident; in addition, he served as both Director and Regional Vice Presi-
dent of the New York State Association of Realtors in 2013 and 2014; and
WHEREAS, James Knight has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the well-being of his community, James Knight is
an active volunteer in several organizations, including the United Way
Day of Caring, Habitat for Humanity, Ride for Roswell, and the Buffalo
City Mission; he is also a member of both the St. Joseph's Collegiate
Institute, and Canisius College Alumni Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, James Knight participates on the Town of
Tonawanda's Board of Directors for Assessment Review as well as its
Commercial and Industrial Review and Approval Panel; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, James Knight has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend James Knight upon the occasion of being selected as the recipi-
ent of the 2015 Realtor of the Year Award by the Buffalo Niagara Associ-
ation of Realtors Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to James Knight.
