LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Birgitta Anderson upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition by the Orange County Interscho-
lastic Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior Scholar-Athlete

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Birgitta
Anderson upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition by
the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as a 2015 Senior
Scholar-Athlete; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Birgitta Anderson has distin-
guished herself as a young woman of superlative ability, talent, and
maturity, establishing standards of excellence and achievement, purpose-
fulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved in youthful years;
and
WHEREAS, Birgitta Anderson, a student at Newburgh Free Academy, is
ranked 4th in her class with a 100.65 GPA; she also participated in
tennis, basketball, softball, and golf; and
WHEREAS, The President of the National Honor Society, President of the
French Club, member of the Science Honor Society, and Band member (Clar-
inet Wind Ensemble), Birgitta Anderson has been accepted at West Point
and Merchant Marine Academy, where she will major in Engineering; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding role model for her classmates, Birgitta Ander-
son has brought honor to her family, school, and community; and
WHEREAS, Birgitta Anderson may stand with pride in her achievements,
experiencing the satisfaction of her labors and the joy of her accom-
plishments, eager to face the challenge of new experiences as she
continues her education; and
WHEREAS, Birgitta Anderson represents the potential inherent in our
most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body is pleased to
honor this young woman, recognizing her achievements and the promise of
her future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Birgitta Anderson upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association as
a 2015 Senior Scholar-Athlete, and to wish her well in her future
endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Birgitta Anderson.
