LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Wilfred J. Plumley, Jr. upon the occa-
sion of his designation for special recognition after many years of
outstanding service as the Deputy to the Garrison Commander on June 25,
2015
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and the great
State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good works
of those patriotic and civic-minded community members who dedicate their
lives and careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Wilfred J.
Plumley, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion after many years of outstanding service as the Deputy to the Garri-
son Commander, to be celebrated at a Hail and Farewell Party on Thurs-
day, June 25, 2015; and
WHEREAS, In 1983, Wilfred J. Plumley, Jr. earned his Bachelor's degree
in Business Education from Marshall University, West Virginia; in 1994,
he furthered his education by obtaining his Master's degree in Logistics
Management from the Florida Institute of Technology; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his college degrees, Wilfred J. Plumley, Jr.
attended various military schools, where he successfully completed
numerous programs, including the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, Ordnance
Officer Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College, Logistics
Executive Development Course, and Garrison Pre-Command Course, as well
as Sustaining Base Leadership and Management Program; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his military career, Wilfred J. Plumley, Jr. held
many leadership positions including Commander at the Materiel Support
Center, Waegwan, Korea, 19th Theater Support Command (TSC); Support
Operations Officer, 20th Area Support Group, 19th TSC, Daegu, Korea;
Deputy G4, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; S4, 159th
Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell; Support Oper-
ations Officer, 129th Support Battalion, 101st Corps Support Group, Fort
Campbell; Chief, JROTC Division, 2nd Region ROTC, Cadet Command, Fort
Knox, Kentucky; Deputy Commander, 20th Area Support Group, 19th ESC,
Daegu, Korea; Installation Manager, Area IV Support Activity, IMCOM-Ko-
rea, Waegwan, Korea; and Director, DPTMS, Area IV Support Activity,
IMCOM-Korea, Daegu, Korea; as well as Deputy to the Garrison Commander,
USAG West Point, IMCOM-NER, West Point, New York; and
WHEREAS, For his distinguished military service, Wilfred J. Plumley,
Jr. earned numerous awards and accolades, including the Legion of
Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army
Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal
with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Assault Badge, Airborne Badge, Ordnance
Order of Samuel Sharp, two Commander's Awards for Civilian Service, and
the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service; and
WHEREAS, Members of the Armed Services from the State of New York, who
have served their country so valiantly, deserve a special salute from
this Legislative Body; and
WHEREAS, Those individuals, who have given so selflessly of their
skills and dedication, are worthy and due full recognition for their
valued contributions on behalf of their country and its ideals, uphold-
ing the patriotic character and principled ideals of organizations in
service to their fellowman; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Wilfred J. Plumley, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition after many years of outstanding service as the Depu-
ty to the Garrison Commander on June 25, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mr. Wilfred J. Plumley, Jr.
