LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Julia Goodwin upon the occasion of
her success on "America's Got Talent"
WHEREAS, It is the sense of the State of New York to acknowledge those
outstanding individuals within our midst, who have distinguished them-
selves through their hard work, dedication and extreme talent, adding to
the pride of their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Julia Goodwin upon the occasion of her success on "America's Got
Talent"; and
WHEREAS, At the young age of 16, Baldwinsville singer Julia Goodwin
has already achieved national recognition for her outstanding talent in
music; and
WHEREAS, On July 29, 2014, Julia Goodwin was one of just 12 performers
from across the nation to compete on the "America's Got Talent" Season 9
live show at Radio City Music Hall; Julia advanced to the live competi-
tion after performing with her father, John, on Tuesday's July 22nd show
to "Feeling Good" and impressing the judges; and
WHEREAS, Julia Goodwin's actual career began on "America's Got Talent"
at the age of 15 when producers invited her to Los Angeles to audition
in April of 2014; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her performance on "America's Got Talent,"
Julia Goodwin has received numerous accolades, including in 2013, when
she won the Great American Songbook Vocal Academy & Competition, and was
featured on News Channel 9's Extraordinary People and Places of Central
New York; and
WHEREAS, Through her constant hard work and determination, Julia Good-
win has clearly had an enduring impact on the Central New York community
and accordingly merits recognition for her impressive accomplishments in
the field of music; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body hereby pauses to congratulate
Julia Goodwin for her outstanding accomplishments on "America's Got
Talent", and to wish her well in all her future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Julia Goodwin.
