LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Vicky DeJulio upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Town
of East Greenbush on June 3, 2015

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Vicky DeJulio
upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Lifetime
Achievement Award by the Town of East Greenbush, celebrated at its Annu-
al Spotlight on Youth Award Ceremony on Wednesday, June 3, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Vicky DeJulio has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; she began her career as a Summer Camp Counselor
for the Town of East Greenbush in 1976, and just four years later she
became the Summer Program Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, In 1984, Vicky DeJulio was then promoted as the Town's Youth
Director where she remained until she moved on to the East Greenbush
Central School District in 2002, serving as a Physical Education Teacher
and Coach; and
WHEREAS, A driving force for creative youth programming, Vicky DeJulio
was instrumental in the creation of many successful programs some of
which include a Parks Task Force, a Peer Leadership Program, an After
School Program, a Summer Camp Program, Saturday in the Park, Music in
the Park, a Preschool Program, Tennis and Swim Lessons, Holiday Homes,
Winterfest, Senior Activities, and the Spotlight on Youth Awards; and
WHEREAS, Vicky DeJulio sat as a member on both the East Greenbush
Youth Commission and the Rensselaer County Advisory Committee; she
chairs a Peer Leadership Club at Columbia High School, and in 2001, she
received recognition from Rensselaer County and East Greenbush Central
School District for her steadfast community service; and
WHEREAS, A truly endearing woman, Vicky DeJulio, in her official acts,
is governed by a keen sense of duty and always shows a unique grasp of
human problems, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her
colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Today, Vicky DeJulio remains tirelessly committed to the
local children and continues to serve as the connection between the Town
of East Greenbush's Youth Department and the School District; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Vicky DeJulio has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Vicky DeJulio has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Vicky DeJulio upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Town of East Greenbush on June 3,
2015; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Vicky DeJulio.
