LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Marvin Schein upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by Opportunities for a Better Tomor-
row on June 16, 2015

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their valued
contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Marvin Schein
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by Opportu-
nities for a Better Tomorrow, to be celebrated at its Fourth Annual
Summer Soiree on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Battery Gardens, Manhattan,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT) has been New York
City's leading workforce development provider for disconnected youth for
more than three decades; the success of this vital organization is truly
changing the lives of countless local young adults, and is due in large
part to individuals such as Marvin Schein, for their steadfast and
unwavering support over the years; and
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Managing Partner of Salmar Properties, Marvin Schein, has
given not only of his time and energies but also of his competence,
intelligence and leadership and consequently has been designated for
special honor; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Marvin Schein has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Marvin Schein has displayed through-
out his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Marvin Schein upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow on June 16, 2015, and
to wish him continued success in all of his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Marvin Schein.
