LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Sawyer Fredericks of Fultonville,
New York, upon the occasion of winning season eight of "The Voice"

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
those young people within our midst whose nationally acclaimed accom-
plishments bring pride to their families, their communities, and to the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Sawyer Fredericks of Fultonville, New York, upon the occasion of
winning season eight of "The Voice" on May 19, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Sawyer Fredericks was mentored by Pharrell Williams, a
skilled singer/songwriter who guided and inspired young Sawyer to reach
his full potential and pursue his promising musical career; and
WHEREAS, Sawyer Fredericks, a 16 year old singer, guitar player and
prolific songwriter, who learned his first guitar chords in the Fall of
2010, lives and works on his family's farm, Windrake Farm, in Fulton-
ville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Whether bringing hay to the cows, collecting eggs, riding a
quad, or playing Elder Scrolls Online, Sawyer Fredericks can always be
heard singing or strumming his guitar; and
WHEREAS, To date, this talented young man has written more than 36
complete songs, and countless partial melodies, or "doodles" as he would
call them; and
WHEREAS, Sawyer Fredericks' performances were consistently at the top
of the download charts on iTunes and his performances can also be found
on both YouTube and his musician Facebook page; and
WHEREAS, In 2012, Sawyer Fredericks recorded as well as copyrighted
his first demo CD, featuring six original songs; and
WHEREAS, Moreover, in June of 2013, Sawyer Fredericks released his
first full length album, "Out My Window" complete with 15 original
songs; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
recognize the amazing and unique talent of Sawyer Fredericks who has
brought enduring pride to his family, his fans, the State of New York,
and the Nation as a whole, fully confident of his response to a promis-
ing future and appreciative of the model he represents for all those
aspiring to be contestants on "The Voice"; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Sawyer Fredericks of Fultonville, New York, upon the occa-
sion of winning season eight of "The Voice"; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sawyer Fredericks.
