LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Leonard Bus
Sales, in Rome, New York, on May 27, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the sense of this Legislative Body to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of Leonard Bus Sales, in Rome, New York,
celebrated with a Customer Appreciation Party, Wednesday, May 27, 2015;
and
WHEREAS, Gerald and Helen Leonard first began distributing school
buses in 1965 out of a facility in Hancock, New York; half a century
later, Leonard Bus Sales has more than 150 employees spread across six
locations in New York State; and
WHEREAS, Today, Leonard Bus Sales continues to be a family-owned
company, led by Gerald and Helen's son, Mike Leonard, and managed by a
team of experienced transportation professionals, which includes four of
their grandsons; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Bus Sales is a recognized leader in the distribution
and support of quality, environmentally-friendly school and commercial
buses; with over 50 years of experience, the Leonard family and staff
pride themselves on providing unmatched customer support and fleet
management services; and
WHEREAS, Leonard Bus Sales has been the recipient of numerous awards
and accolades for their stellar service, including IC Bus's North Ameri-
can Dealer of the Year, Eastern Region Dealer of the Year, the Pursuit
of Excellence Award for 2012, 2013, and 2014, and the Trans Tech Dealer
of the Year Award for 2013 and 2014; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
businesses within the State of New York which contribute to the economic
health and vitality of the communities they serve; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Leonard Bus Sales, in Rome, New
York, on May 27, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mike Leonard.
