LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 10th Anniversary of Tabla Rasa
Gallery on April 26, 2015
WHEREAS, The arts, in whatever form depicted, are central to human
expression; they are truly a universal language and their contribution
to the development of friendship and understanding among all peoples
cannot be underestimated; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality and
character of life in New York State are reflective of the concerned and
dedicated efforts of organizations and individuals whose endeavors
support and enrich the arts in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 10th Anniversary of Tabla Rasa Gallery on April 26, 2015,
celebrated with a reception held on Sunday, April 26, 2015, in Brooklyn,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2005, Tabla Rasa is an art gallery which
profiles the works of emerging, mid-career, and established artists in
Brooklyn, New York, and throughout the United States; and
WHEREAS, Located in a turn of the century carriage house in the
burgeoning art destination of Sunset Park, Tabla Rasa Gallery presents
solo and group exhibitions in a wide range of styles, themes and media
including sculpture, painting, installation, drawing, print, photogra-
phy, film, and media; and
WHEREAS, Known for their consistently stunning exhibitions, Tabla Rasa
Gallery also provides expert consultation and leasing services to corpo-
rations and collectors; and
WHEREAS, Artists/Directors Audrey Frank Anastasi and Joseph Anastasi
are committed to promoting the visual arts as an expression of the human
spirit and as a voice for social issues; in addition, they are dedicated
to presenting exhibitions in an accessible, community friendly, non-in-
timidating, and high quality art viewing venue; and
WHEREAS, The success of Tabla Rasa Gallery is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its contributing artists and staff, whose involvement is,
and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of this institution and the Brooklyn community
it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those cultural institutions who enhance the vitality of our artistic
communities and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excel-
lence; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Tabla Rasa Gallery on April 26,
2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Audrey Frank Anastasi and Joseph Anastasi, Artists/Directors,
Tabla Rasa Gallery.
