LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Jeannine LoCicero in recognition of
her heroic actions in aiding a man who had overdosed in the parking lot
of the Gulf gas station in Goshen, New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize the
caring concern and heroic acts of individuals who take prompt and appro-
priate action in emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Jeannine LoCicero in recognition of her heroic actions in aiding a man
who had overdosed in the parking lot of the Gulf gas station in Goshen,
New York; and
WHEREAS, On May 11, 2015, Jeannine LoCicero stopped at the Gulf
station on her way home, when she observed a man slumped over in the
driver's seat of the car with the engine running; and
WHEREAS, Responding without hesitation, she noticed the young man had
labored breathing; and
WHEREAS, This courageous woman yelled to another patron to call 911
while she ran, in high heels, for a nearby police officer involved in a
routine stop; and
WHEREAS, Reaching the officer and the reversal drug Narcan, Jeannine
LoCicero remained calm under pressure, showing valor and true courage
while performing a lifesaving deed; and
WHEREAS, Jeannine LoCicero is a case supervisor for Orange County
Children's Services, and has dedicated her life to helping others; and
WHEREAS, Through her heroic actions, Jeannine LoCicero demonstrated
her character and her compassion for the welfare of others, personify-
ing, by virtue of her actions, the collective concern of citizens across
the community of New York State who respond without the thought of
danger or reward when others are in need of help; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of Jeannine LoCicero and her heroic actions in aiding a man
who had overdosed in the parking lot of the Gulf gas station in Goshen,
New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jeannine LoCicero.
