LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Haitian American Business Network
upon the occasion of hosting its 11th Anniversary Gala, and paying trib-
ute to this year's honorees
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in keeping with its
time-honored traditions, to recognize and pay tribute to those organiza-
tions which foster ethnic pride and enhance the profile of cultural
diversity which strengthens the fabric of the communities of New York
State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Haitian American Business Network (HABNET) upon the occasion of
hosting its 11th Anniversary Gala themed "Shifting the Paradigm: Moving
from Spectator to Stakeholder" to be held on Saturday, November 21,
2015, at Glen Terrace, Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, This year's honorees include: Alain Massena, Esq., recipient
of the HABNET Entrepreneur of the Year Award; Eveline Pierre, and Rever-
end Diane Jacques St. Surin, recipients of the HABNET Leadership and
Service Award; Kevin Johnson, and Georges Boursiquot, recipients of the
HABNET Leadership and Business Award; Sameson Louis, recipient of the
Visionary and Service Award; Joseph D. Chery, recipient of the HABNET
Lifetime Achievement Award; and Emblem Health, recipient of the HABNET
Organization of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, HABNET believes in promoting entrepreneurship and financial
literacy in its community; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, HABNET's distinguished record merits
the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Haitian American Business Network upon the occasion of host-
ing its 11th Anniversary Gala, and to pay tribute to this year's hono-
rees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Haitian American Business Network, and the 2015 honorees.
