LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Judy Belfield upon the occasion of her
retirement after a long career in public education and after six years
as Superintendent of the Phoenix Central School District
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its citizen-
ship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Judy
Belfield upon the occasion of her retirement after a long career in
public education and after six years as Superintendent of the Phoenix
Central School District; and
WHEREAS, Judy Belfield held positions in the Baldwinsville, Mexico and
Wappingers School Districts before accepting the esteemed position of
Superintendent of the Phoenix Central School District in 2010; and
WHEREAS, Judy Belfield has rendered faithful, conscientious and valu-
able service to public education in New York for many years, and her
community spirit while serving as Superintendent will be greatly missed
by the Phoenix Central School District; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Judy Belfield upon the occasion of her retirement after a long
career in public education and after six years as Superintendent of the
Phoenix Central School District; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Judy Belfield.
