LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Robin McNamara upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Andrus Award for Community Service
by the American Association of Retired Persons

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in communities across New York State are
reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individuals
who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Robin McNamara upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2015 Andrus Award for Community Service by the American Association of
Retired Persons, celebrated at a ceremony held on Tuesday, October 20,
2015; and
WHEREAS, Robin McNamara was selected for this auspicious award from a
pool of nominees from across New York State; she was chosen for her
extraordinary service to her community though her work at New Begin-
nings, and her ability to enhance the lives of AARP members, as well as
inspire others to explore various volunteer opportunities; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Madrid, New York, Robin McNamara is a longtime
volunteer for New Beginnings Food Outreach and Clothing, Inc., where she
serves as a member of its Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, New Beginnings is a non-profit organization which provides
families and seniors in need with clothing, household items, and food
through its thrift store and food pantry; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Robin McNamara has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Robin McNamara has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Robin McNamara upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2015 Andrus Award for Community Service by the American Associ-
ation of Retired Persons; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Robin McNamara.
