LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Ashley Casamir upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Scholarship Award by the Major
General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Ashley Casamir upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2015 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 17th Annual
Tuition Assistance Awards Celebration on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Newburgh Free Academy (NFA), Ashley Casamir will
represent her school and New York State at the National Congress of
Future Science and Technology Leaders; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she is a steadfast volunteer and serves as a
teacher's assistant at NFA; she is a member of the French, Science and
National Honor Societies; and
WHEREAS, Driven, caring, intelligent, dedicated and dependable, Ashley
Casamir plans to attend Fordham University to major in visual arts in
hopes of becoming an interior designer; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Ashley Casamir has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Ashley Casamir, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Ashley Casamir upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2015 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to her best wishes for a
future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Ashley Casamir.
