LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dan Yerdon upon the occasion of his
retirement after 24 years of distinguished public service as Camden's
Town Supervisor

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those individ-
uals who are devoted to the welfare of their community and its citizen-
ry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dan
Yerdon upon the occasion of his retirement after 24 years of distin-
guished public service as Camden's Town Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, Dan Yerdon began his illustrious career as Town Supervisor in
April of 1991, and will officially retire from his esteemed position in
December of 2015, after more than two decades of steadfast service to
the community of Camden, New York; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure, Dan Yerdon was instrumental in the forma-
tion of water and sewer districts, and vast improvements were made to
the Camden Town Hall; fire contracts and ambulance service for the Towns
of Camden, Florence and Osceola were also implemented; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Dan Yerdon was successful in acquiring numerous
grants for such initiatives as archival reorganization, and was a tire-
less supporter of the Camden Library, VFW, Legion, and the Saint
Patrick's Day Parade; he also served as a member of the Camden School
Board; and
WHEREAS, A man of true integrity, Dan Yerdon leads by example; he has
served the Town of Camden with distinction, enthusiasm, dedication and
honor, and has overseen countless programs that have made his community
a better and stronger place to live; and
WHEREAS, For the past 24 years, Dan Yerdon rendered faithful, consci-
entious and valuable service to the Town of Camden, earning the admira-
tion, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the occurrence of such a compassionate blend-
ing of strength, leadership, intellect, and commitment as that demon-
strated by Dan Yerdon over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to
others; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dan Yerdon upon the occasion of his retirement after 24 years of
distinguished public service as Camden's Town Supervisor; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dan Yerdon.
