LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Taylor Chappel upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the 2015 Scholarship Award by the Major
General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Taylor Chappel upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
2015 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 17th Annual
Tuition Assistance Awards Celebration on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at
Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Ellenville High School, Taylor Chappel is a
member of the varsity basketball, track and volleyball teams; she has
earned nine varsity letters, and hopes to continue playing volleyball at
the collegiate level; and
WHEREAS, Taylor Chappel is a member of the National Honor Society, Key
Club, and has been the President of her school's student council, as
well as a contributor to the school newspaper; and
WHEREAS, Her strong athletic background has led her to pursue a career
as a Physical or Occupational Therapist; she hopes to study abroad
during at least one of her college years, and intends to continue her
education until she gains a master's degree; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Taylor Chappel has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Taylor Chappel, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Taylor Chappel upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2015 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to her best wishes for a
future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Taylor Chappel.
