LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Yulan Service Station upon the occa-
sion of celebrating its 90th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize those
small businesses within the State of New York which contribute to the
economic health and vitality of the communities they serve; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Yulan Service Station upon the occasion of celebrating its 90th Anniver-
sary; and
WHEREAS, Lifelong Yulan, New York, resident Donald "Jeff" Haas owns
and operates the Yulan Service Station, the longest continually operated
family business in the Town of Highland; and
WHEREAS, The prosperous business was built by Donald J. Haas' grandfa-
ther in 1926, then subsequently sold to his father; Donald then
purchased it from him, and has been watching his beloved town evolve
from its doors ever since; and
WHEREAS, An astute businessman, Donald J. Haas prides himself on
providing reliable and friendly customer service, knowing his patrons
are his community; and
WHEREAS, Small businesses such as Yulan Service Station exert a
strong, positive influence on the communities they serve and are a
crucial element in the economy of New York State; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those busi-
nesses which enhance the quality of life in their community and have
shown a long and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high stand-
ards in their profession, certainly have earned the recognition and
applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Yulan Service Station upon the occasion of celebrating its 90th
Anniversary; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Donald J. Haas, Owner, Yulan Service Station.
