LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Chief Master Sergeant John Francis
Ditro upon his retirement after 27 years of faithful military service to
the New York Air National Guard

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize those
individuals who have honorably and courageously served this country, in
order to protect the life and liberty of our citizens, and to support
civilian authorities during times of emergency; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to hereby
recognize Chief Master Sergeant John Francis Ditro upon his retirement
as Mission Intelligence Coordinator from the 174th Fighter Wing, New
York Air National Guard, after 27 years of dedicated military service;
and
WHEREAS, Born on March 20, 1964, John F. Ditro grew up in Philadelp-
hia, Pennsylvania, where he attended Frankford High School; in May of
1982, he entered the United States Navy via a delayed enlistment
program; and
WHEREAS, In January of 1983, John F. Ditro, was assigned to the United
States Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, where he was a diesel
engine mechanic; he proudly served in the United States Navy until his
honorable discharge in March of 1988, after which he decided to pursue
employment in the civilian sector; and
WHEREAS, In 1995, John F. Ditro returned to military life after taking
a position in the New York Air National Guard as a Command and Control
Battle Management Operations Specialist at the Northeast Air Defense
Sector; and
WHEREAS, In 2002, Chief Master Sergeant John F. Ditro transferred to
the 174th Fighter Wing, New York Air National Guard, where he worked as
an accounting technician; five years later, he was recognized as the
Senior NCO of the year; and
WHEREAS, In 2011, Chief Master Sergeant John F. Ditro gladly accepted
the challenge to lead the newly formed Operation Support Flight; he
attended Operations Intelligence Specialist Technical Training School
located at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas, where he received the
award of Distinguished Graduate and subsequently, qualified as a Mission
Intelligence Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished military career, Chief Master
Sergeant John F. Ditro has received numerous military awards and deco-
rations for his dedicated service which include the Air Reserve Merito-
rious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force
Achievement Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Coast
Guard Meritorious Unit Award; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Chief Master Sergeant John F. Ditro received
several educational accommodations, having graduated from many Air Force
training academies with honors; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause to hereby commend Chief
Master Sergeant John Francis Ditro upon his retirement after 27 years of
faithful military service to the New York Air National Guard, and to
wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Chief Master Sergeant John Francis Ditro.
