LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Barbaruolo Law Firm, P.C. upon the
occasion of its designation as recipient of the Barry A. Gold Law Firm
Leadership Award by the Legal Project on October 14, 2015
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of certain
extraordinary law firms and individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Barbaruolo Law Firm, P.C. upon the occasion of its designation as recip-
ient of the Barry A. Gold Law Firm Leadership Award by the Legal
Project, celebrated at its Pro Bono Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, Octo-
ber 14, 2015, at the Century House, Latham, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Barry A. Gold Law Firm Leadership Award recognizes a law
firm which has made an important difference during the past year through
the generous pro bono work of its partners and associates; and
WHEREAS, Barbaruolo Law Firm has been a strong proponent of the Legal
Project for numerous years; many of its dedicated attorneys volunteer
with this vital organization to provide legal advice to low-income
clients; and
WHEREAS, Paula Barbaruolo, the founder of the firm, approached both
the Legal Project and the Bankruptcy Bar Association to help establish a
Bankruptcy and Credit program for lower income households; and
WHEREAS, The Barbaruolo Law Firm sees many clients who are at risk of
losing assets, and the volunteer attorneys will undertake the remainder
of the proceeding to help protect the debtor's assets; and
WHEREAS, Associate Justin Myers has been instrumental in establishing
pro bono assistance for clients at the firm; he attends many bankruptcy
clinics and is available in between dates for clients who may have an
immediate need; and
WHEREAS, Through their invaluable pro bono service, the Barbaruolo Law
Firm is helping to fill the gap of unmet legal needs in New York State;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when law firms
and individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to
its attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citi-
zens of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Barbaruolo Law Firm, P.C. upon the occasion of its designation
as recipient of the Barry A. Gold Law Firm Leadership Award by the Legal
Project on October 14, 2015; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Paula Barbaruolo, Owner, Barbaruolo Law Firm, P.C.
