LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jennifer Nalbone of the Lexington Co-Op-
erative Market upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Cooperative Board Service Award by the Consumer Cooperative Management
Association

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jennifer
Nalbone of the Lexington Co-Operative Market, Buffalo, New York, upon
the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Cooperative Board
Service Award by the Consumer Cooperative Management Association at
their Annual Conference held in June 2015; and
WHEREAS, The Consumer Cooperative Management Association (CCMA)
Conference brought 400 cooperators representing 75 food co-ops from
across the nation to Boise, Idaho, for a national conversation on the
future of the food co-op sector; and
WHEREAS, Jennifer Nalbone was acknowledged for her dedication as a
board member for nine years, five as President, and for her demonstrated
thoughtful and careful leadership that inspires strong mutual support
among board members; and
WHEREAS, According to Jennifer Nalbone, the Cooperative Board Service
Award recognizes the co-op's entire team for "growing together in good
governance"; and
WHEREAS, In 2013, at the Annual Consumer Cooperative Management Asso-
ciation Conference, the Lexington Co-Operative Market was honored for
retail excellence; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jennifer Nalbone of the Lexington Co-Operative Market upon the
occasion of her designation as recipient of the Cooperative Board
Service Award by the Consumer Cooperative Management Association; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jennifer Nalbone.
