LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Schreiber High School students Jona-
than Kobrinsky, Jordan Lerner, Andrew Lu, and Soobin Seo upon the occa-
sion of their selection as members of the 2015 New York State School
Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Winter Conference

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
those young people within our midst whose nationally acclaimed accom-
plishments bring pride to their families, their communities, and to the
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Each young musician in our schools is deserving of his or her
own recognition and spotlight, for their remarkable commitment and hours
of practice in perfecting their musical abilities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Schreiber High School students Jonathan Kobrinsky, Jordan Lerner, Andrew
Lu, and Soobin Seo upon the occasion of their selection as members of
the 2015 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State
Winter Conference held on December 3, 2015, in Rochester, New York; and
WHEREAS, The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) is one
of the largest musical organizations in the country; in the spring of
2015, thousands of students auditioned at solo and ensemble festivals
throughout New York State for the honor of performing at the All-State
Winter Conference; and
WHEREAS, Jonathan Kobrinsky was selected as Double Bass Alternate,
String Orchestra; Jordan Lerner, Baritone Saxophone, Jazz Ensemble, and
Alto-Saxophone Alternate, Jazz Ensemble; Andrew Lu, Violin, String
Orchestra; and Soobin Seo, Violin Alternate, String Orchestra; and
WHEREAS, These hard working musicians rehearsed over several hours per
day under the tutelage of world-renowned conductors, culminating in a
spectacular concert at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, New York; and
WHEREAS, Music competition provides an opportunity for students to
exhibit their practical skills to an audience, thereby giving them a
sense of pride in their hard work and efforts; and
WHEREAS, Jonathan Kobrinsky, Jordan Lerner, Andrew Lu, and Soobin Seo
exemplify the best potential which is inherent in our most precious
resource, our youth; they have brought enduring honor to their families,
their school, and their community through their achievements; and
WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, these
artists now stand honorably, with just pride in their accomplishments,
and in eager anticipation of future challenges, understanding and appre-
ciating the caring counsel and support provided by their teachers,
mentors, and parents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Schreiber High School students Jonathan Kobrinsky, Jordan
Lerner, Andrew Lu, and Soobin Seo upon the occasion of their selection
as members of the 2015 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA)
All-State Winter Conference; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jonathan Kobrinsky, Jordan Lerner, Andrew Lu, and Soobin Seo.
