LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brian Dawson upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major
General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Brian Dawson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 18th Annual
Tuition Assistance Program on Saturday, February 6, 2015, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, Brian Dawson is a senior at Ellenville High School where he
is a member of the National Honor Society, festival choir and symphonic
band; and
WHEREAS, An extraordinary athlete, Brian Dawson has lettered in foot-
ball and baseball all four years of his high school career, in addition
to two years as a member of the varsity wrestling team; as captain of
both the JV and Varsity baseball teams, he has been chosen as Scholar
Athlete of the Year three times; and
WHEREAS, Brian Dawson plans to attend Binghamton University as either
a business finance or education major with the goal to someday become a
financial analyst; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Brian Dawson has displayed
exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community responsi-
bility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled; and
WHEREAS, Brian Dawson, in achieving this academic honor, may take just
pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excellence he
brings to his family, friends, community and school; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brian Dawson upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to him best wishes for a
future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brian Dawson.
