LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kassondra Little upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major
General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kassondra Little upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 18th Annual
Tuition Assistance Program on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, Kassondra Little is a senior at Ellenville High School where
she is ranked second in her class and serves as class president; and
WHEREAS, An active scholar athlete, Kassondra Little has practiced
gymnastics and played soccer, basketball and softball since she was five
years old; and
WHEREAS, As a direct result of her own diagnosis with protein C defi-
ciency, this extraordinary young woman established Keep Life Flowing, an
organization dedicated to spreading awareness of pediatric illnesses and
raising funds for families with children affected by long-term diseases;
and
WHEREAS, Kassondra Little hopes to attend Colgate University to study
neuroscience, with the goal of continuing on to medical school and
becoming a pediatric hematologist/oncologist; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her high school career, Kassondra Little has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Kassondra Little in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence she brings to her family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kassondra Little upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to her best wishes for a
future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kassondra Little.
