LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Andrew Komonchak upon the occasion of
his designation for special recognition by the Major General Irene
Trowell-Harris Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. on February 6, 2016

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Komonchak has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Andrew Komonc-
hak upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. to be
celebrated at its 18th Annual Tuition Assistance Program on Saturday,
February 6, 2016, at Anthony's Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Komonchak has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, With a true passion for our nation's veterans, Andrew Komonc-
hak has been tirelessly committed to ensuring those who serve our coun-
try receive the respect, honor and recognition they deserve; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Komonchak is the Executive Director of National Purple
Heart Hall of Honor, Inc., an organization he helped found which raises
funds and awareness for the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor in New
Windsor; and
WHEREAS, Since the inception of this vital organization, Andrew
Komonchak has been instrumental in its paramount success, raising
substantial funds to begin Phase One of the much-needed enhancement of
the Hall of Honor; and
WHEREAS, For many years, Andrew Komonchak owned ARK Graphics, a
marketing consulting company; during this time his clients included
regional businesses, as well as several nonprofit organizations within
the community to whom he donated much of his time and talent; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Komonchak graduated from Leadership Orange in 2007,
during which time he joined the Board of Directors of the National
Purple Heart Hall of Honor, Inc., the Orange County Arts Council, and
Leadership Orange; he also served as the Chairman of the Orange County
Citizens Foundation's Public Relations Committee; and
WHEREAS, A valued and involved member of his community, Andrew Komonc-
hak serves on the Boards of Hudson Valley Honor Flight and Research &
Recognition Project-PTSD Treatment, and has greatly contributed to the
success of Newburgh Armory as a community center in the heart of
Newburgh; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Komonchak is a highly regarded and respected leader in
the community; he received the 2010 Pinnacle of Leadership Award from
Leadership Orange, and three years later was inducted into the organiza-
tion's Hall of Fame; and
WHEREAS, In addition, he was honored with the prestigious Ruth and
James Ottaway Medal by the Orange County Citizens Foundation for his
long-standing stellar commitment to Orange County; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Andrew Komonchak has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Andrew Komonchak has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Andrew Komonchak upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter, Tuskegee
Airmen, Inc. on February 6, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Andrew Komonchak.
