LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Donovan Brophy upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major
General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Donovan Brophy upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter
of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 18th Annual
Tuition Assistance Program on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Newburgh Free Academy (NFA), Donovan Brophy, with
a passion for music, is a member of the Wind Ensemble and the Jazz Band;
and
WHEREAS, Donovan Brophy plans to attend college to major in business
administration as well as marketing, and ultimately become a lawyer; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, an avid baseball player, Donovan Brophy hopes to
use this business and legal acumen to become an agent negotiating for
both musicians and athletes; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Donovan Brophy has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Donovan Brophy, in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Donovan Brophy upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to him best wishes for a
future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Donovan Brophy.
