LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Edward James Green upon the occasion of
his designation as recipient of the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major
General Irene Trowell-Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to honor the young
adults of today and leaders of tomorrow whose character and achievements
best exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Edward James Green upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-Harris
Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, This momentous occasion will be celebrated at the 18th Annual
Tuition Assistance Program on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Anthony's
Pier 9, New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, A student at Pine Bush High School, Edward James Green has a
fascination with computers which began more than 10 years ago when he
first experienced the potential of a PC, and he has been consumed by the
technology ever since; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, since that time, Edward James Green has used,
studied, worked on, and built computers, including attending networking
classes at Orange-Ulster BOCES; and
WHEREAS, Edward James Green plans to attend SUNY Polytechnical Insti-
tute to major in computer science with the goal to become a computer
engineer; he also intends to earn his pilot's license; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his high school career, Edward James Green has
displayed exceptional academic achievement, a strong sense of community
responsibility, and a commitment to excellence which is unparalleled;
and
WHEREAS, Edward James Green in achieving this academic honor, may take
just pride in the inspiration and contribution to the spirit of excel-
lence he brings to his family, friends, community and school; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Edward James Green upon the occasion of his designation as recipi-
ent of the 2016 Scholarship Award by the Major General Irene Trowell-
Harris Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., and to extend to him best wish-
es for a future of purposeful success and well-being; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Edward James Green.
