LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending James W. Wallace upon the occasion of
his retirement after 25 years of distinguished service to the Herkimer
County HealthNet Board of Directors
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished citizens of this great Empire State who have
devoted themselves to faithfully serving the best interests of their
community and the needs of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
James W. Wallace upon the occasion of his retirement after 25 years of
distinguished service to the Herkimer County HealthNet Board of Direc-
tors which was celebrated on Tuesday, January 12, 2016; and
WHEREAS, For the past 25 years, James W. Wallace rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Board of Directors of Herkimer
County HealthNet and the citizens of his community; and
WHEREAS, A strong contributor to Herkimer County HealthNet since
before the organization's inception as a nonprofit corporation in 1990,
James W. Wallace's efforts were vital in assisting a small group of
health professionals in forming a coalition to serve the people of
Herkimer County after the closing of two hospitals; and
WHEREAS, During his illustrious tenure, this esteemed man worked tire-
lessly on behalf of Herkimer County HealthNet in all aspects of the
organization; he was also involved in numerous important grant-making
decisions which have resulted in the great work of the staff, board
members, and partners over the past 25 years; and
WHEREAS, James W. Wallace's leadership has helped Herkimer County
HealthNet grow into a successful healthcare organization with a full-
time staff, a strong and diverse Board of Directors, and an impressive
number of partners and volunteers who work and assist with grants and a
wide variety of programs; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, James W. Wallace was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems, earn-
ing him the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which James W. Wallace has continuously
displayed throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those committed
leaders who enhance the quality of life in their community and have
shown a long and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high stand-
ards in their profession, certainly have earned the recognition and
applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend James W. Wallace upon the occasion of his retirement after 25
years of distinguished service to the Herkimer County HealthNet Board of
Directors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to James W. Wallace.
