LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION Honoring Michelle "Mickey" Driscoll Tierney upon
the occasion of being selected as the 2016 Grand Marshal of the Northern
Westchester-Putnam 40th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their profession
and in their communities; and
WHEREAS, Michelle "Mickey" Driscoll Tierney will be honored as Grand
Marshal of the Northern Westchester-Putnam 40th Annual St. Patrick's Day
Parade during a dinner to be held at the Centennial Golf Club on Febru-
ary 5, 2016; the parade will be held on March 13th and is dedicated to
Army Staff Sergeant Jimmy McNaughton (Gold Star Families) and Sergeant
Eddie Ryan, USMC (Wounded Warriors); and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney was born to Patrick Driscoll and
Letitia Sullivan Driscoll; her paternal grandparents were from County
Kerry and her mother was born in County Kildare; and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney enjoyed many Emerald Society events
with her family; and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney graduated from St. Philip Neri on the
Grand Concourse; she attended Manhattan College and later earned a nurs-
ing degree from Mount Vernon Hospital School of Nursing; and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney has enjoyed success as a nurse for
Dr. Bennett Pallant and for the Putnam Hospital Center Quality Depart-
ment; and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney is an active member of the Stephen P.
Driscoll Memorial Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 704; Stephen was
her brother, a NYPD officer who lost his life at the World Trade Center
on September 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney also belongs to the New York State
Shields, the NYPD Navy Association, and the NYPD Emerald Society; and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney and her loving husband, John Tierney,
are the proud parents of Alyssa, Lauren, Erica, and Leah Tierney; and
WHEREAS, Mickey Driscoll Tierney is tirelessly dedicated to her commu-
nity and to her Irish heritage; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mickey Driscoll Tierney upon the occasion of being selected as the
2016 Grand Marshal of the Northern Westchester-Putnam 40th Annual St.
Patrick's Day Parade; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mickey Driscoll Tierney.
