LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Main Mobility upon the occasion of its
designation as recipient of the Business of the Year Award by the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce on February 25, 2016
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business organ-
izations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Main Mobility
upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the Business of the
Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its
44th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Samuel's
Grande Manor, Williamsville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Tom Lorentz's journey into the mobility industry began in
1984, as a one man operation in his grandfather's service station in
Depew, New York; his desire to build vehicles came from his first
passion, music; and
WHEREAS, While traveling for his music career, Tom Lorentz began
creating plush style vans, and while doing so, others took notice;
people from around his community would frequently ask him to build them
one of his vans; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, during this time, a request came to Tom Lorentz
from a person within his community asking for a way to travel with their
disabled child; after extensive research, he set up a meeting with Ralph
Braun, and left with both a wheelchair lift and a wealth of knowledge to
begin his journey into the mobility industry; and
WHEREAS, From its humble beginnings in his grandfather's former
Brownie's Garage, to now operating in the former General Motors Training
Center in Clarence, New York, Main Mobility, with its staff of talented,
creative employees, has established itself as a leader in the mobility
industry, becoming the largest mobility converter of Chevy vans in the
United States; and
WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unremitting commitment to the community,
Main Mobility has been dedicated to those individuals with special needs
and their families for nearly 32 years; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Main Mobility proudly hosts numerous community
events in their facility's fashionably equipped, theatre staged show-
room, "Regain Your Independence With Main Mobility"; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Main Mobility upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of
the Business of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce on
February 25, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tom Lorentz, Founder, Main Mobility.
