LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Judith M. Sirianni upon the occasion of
her designation as recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award by the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce on February 25, 2016
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Judith M. Sirianni has given not only of her time and ener-
gies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Judith M.
Sirianni upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Citi-
zen of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce, to be cele-
brated at its 44th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, February 25, 2016,
at Samuel's Grande Manor, Williamsville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Judith M. Sirianni, affectionately known as Judy, has been
called upon to contribute her time and talents to countless civic and
charitable endeavors and has always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Retired President of the Clarence Chamber of Commerce, Judith
M. Sirianni has more than 30 years of experience in management, leas-
ing, financing and marketing, as well as a degree in business management
and accounting; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her illustrious career, Judith M. Sirianni has
served in several different capacities; she was part of the Lockport
Mall Management team for more than seventeen years before managing at
the Niagara Falls Outlet Mall; during this time she was able to spear-
head and bring back the Niagara Festival of Lights Parade to the Town of
Niagara; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure as President of the Clarence Chamber of
Commerce, Judith M. Sirianni was instrumental in the creation of new
events such as the Women in Business Symposium, the Annual Legislative
Breakfast, and the Clarence Toastmasters Club; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Judith M. Sirianni took the Chamber Newsletter
to an award winning level at the Chamber National; she also moved this
vital organization from a three-room office space to a six-room suite
which allowed the Chamber to offer a meeting room to other non-profits,
service groups and associations; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Judith M. Sirianni has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband of 50 years, Rich-
ard, and their three daughters, Judy (Scott), Jody, and Jennifer (Tim),
as well as three grandchildren, Kelsey, Victoria and Collin, all of whom
feel privileged to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achieve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Judith M. Sirianni has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Judith M. Sirianni upon the occasion of her designation as recipi-
ent of the Citizen of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce
on February 25, 2016; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Judith M. Sirianni.
